Precision Piano Moving Backed by Experience & Equipment
Tailored for Tight Spaces, Historic Homes, Public Music Spaces & High-Rises Across Greater Boston
We believe in providing exceptional customer service, which is why we tailor our services to meet the specific needs of each and every client. Our team of professional movers is highly trained and experienced in handling all types of pianos, including grand pianos, baby grands, upright pianos, and more. You can trust that with RARE, your piano will be packaged, loaded, and transported with the utmost care and precision.
When receiving your free quote, we will also ask about your piano’s specific details and any special requirements for its move. This allows us to create a customized plan that ensures the safety of your precious instrument during transport.
We consider factors such as size, weight, dimensions, and fragility when planning the relocation of your piano. Our team will also evaluate the layout of both locations, including the piano’s current location and its new destination, to determine the most efficient method of transport.
RARE Moving & Storage uses only the highest quality protective supplies to ensure the safe transport of your piano. Our team will use specialized padding and wraps to securely cover all surfaces of the instrument, including keys, pedals, and legs. These materials are specifically designed for pianos and provide an extra layer of protection against any potential damage during transit.
In addition to padding and wraps, our team will also secure the piano with heavy-duty straps to prevent any shifting or movement during transportation.
When moving a piano, it is important to use the right equipment to ensure its safe transport. With their heavy weight and delicate nature, pianos require specialized tools to move them properly.
Our team utilizes piano boards, which are designed with grooves to fit the shape of a piano’s legs. This helps distribute the weight evenly and prevents any damage to the legs during transport. Piano boards also come equipped with straps to secure the piano in place.
We also use rolling carts, specifically designed for moving pianos. These carts have large wheels that can easily maneuver over different surfaces and terrain, making it easier and safer to transport a piano from one location to another.
If you live in a multi-story building or have a piano on an upper level, moving it can be challenging. RARE makes it easy with our stair and hoisting capabilities. Our experienced movers have the skills and equipment necessary to safely move a piano up or down stairs, even in tight spaces. We can also hoist pianos through windows or balconies if needed.
We arrive at your location with all the necessary equipment, including ramps and dollies, to navigate stairs and narrow hallways. Our team carefully disassembles the piano if needed to make it easier to maneuver and reassembles it once we reach your desired location.
When loading your piano onto our trucks, we take every precaution to ensure its safety during transport. We use specialized equipment and techniques to secure the piano in place and keep it level at all times. Every step we take is to protect your valuable instrument from any potential damage.
Once your piano is securely loaded, we take extra care to drive it to its new location. Our drivers are trained in navigating narrow streets and tight turns, so you can trust that your piano will arrive at its destination unharmed.
After arriving at the new location, our team will carefully place the piano in its designated room. We understand that a piano is not just a piece of furniture, and we want to make sure it is placed in the ideal location for both aesthetic and practical purposes.
Additionally, we provide professional cleaning services for pianos to maintain their appearance and sound quality. Our team uses specialized cleaning products and techniques to ensure that your piano remains in top condition.
